Mariel Buqué, Ph.D.
Ana Beck is a Master of Social Work intern at Columbia University School of Social Work, specializing in Advanced Clinical Practice. With prior clinical training and experience in psychology, Ana has spent many years working in mental health and behavioral health leadership and with individuals navigating highly challenging circumstances. These experiences have reinforced her belief that people are more than the difficulties they have experienced and that therapy should recognize both vulnerability and resilience.
Ana’s clinical interests include trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. She is particularly interested in helping clients understand how past experiences can influence present emotions, relationships, and patterns of coping.
Ana’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and genuine. She values openness and honesty in the therapeutic relationship and believes meaningful growth sometimes requires looking at difficult patterns. She works alongside clients to develop insight, recognize their strengths, and make changes that are meaningful to them.
Ana currently provides services as an intern at Buqué Psychology under clinical supervision.
